Saturday morning walk

While we were on our morning walk in the beautiful Devon countryside, Lisa and Dave had just touched down in London, Delwyn and Lloyd were about to take off from Auckland and Pete was finally collecting his suitcase from Naples airport.

If you recognise the name Axminster it's probably because it gave its name to a type of carpet.

Barrington Court and Lytes Cary Manor

On the drive to Bath we stopped at two National Trust properties - Barrington Court and Lytes Cary Manor.

Barrington Court is a fascinating Tudor home which in the 20th century was renovated with wood features - panelling, staircases etc - from other historic homes and castles.

Lytes Cary Manor is a smaller Tudor manor with a chapel and beautiful gardens.
