Last day at La Raspaude

Matthew drove Lisa, Dave, Shelley and Rhonda to Marseille airport, fortunately avoiding a long queue of traffic caused by the taxi strikes. They flew via Lyon to Venice.

Back in Bonnieux we had lunch next to the market and eventually watched the dismantling of the stalls.

An afternoon by the pool included observing the very large caterpillars in the garden.

Then dinner at Les Terrasses in Bonnieux in very hot late sun which we watched slowly set. The locals are talking about 40 degree plus temperatures next week so perhaps it is good we are about to leave.

Avignon

We took Pete to the TGV station in Avignon then went into the walled town for a ride on the petit train, then lunch and then everyone did their own thing till we returned to Bonnieux for a swim with the Eagles and Led Zeppelin dominating the playlist.

We went to Le Fournil for dinner for the final time and the rest of the group generously shouted us!!

Lunch at Le Vivier

We returned to Le Vivier with our new holiday crew. The food was just as good, if not better, than the first time.

Tonight we went for a drive in the cedar forest with its great views down onto Bonnieux.

Les Baux and Arles

We went to Les Baux to see the former quarry with its art-based multimedia show, images of famous paintings set to music and projected onto the quarry walls.

Than after dropping Cherry at the airport near Nimes we went to Arles for lunch and a walk around the arena and the amphitheatre in the town Vincent Van Gogh lived and painted in briefly..

Pennie and her team cooked a delicious late dinner - chicken pie with pasta and salads and clafoutis and limoncello syllabub for dessert .
